Brad Wall, Leader of the Official Opposition Saskatchewan Party, was born November 24, 1965, in Swift Current. He earned a degree from the University of Saskatchewan and later moved to Ottawa where he worked for a backbench MP in Brian Mulroney's Progressive Conservative government. Wall returned to Saskatchewan and served as a ministerial assistant in the final years of Grant Devine's Tory government. In 1991 he ran for the Conservative nomination in Swift Current and was defeated.
Wall was Director of Business Development for the city of Swift Current when the Saskatchewan Party formed in 1997. Capitalizing on this new political opportunity, he contested the 1999 provincial election and handily won the Swift Current riding. During his first term as an MLA, Wall served as the Saskatchewan Party's Justice critic and was later appointed critic for the Crown Investments Corporation. Re-elected in 2003, he was acclaimed Leader of the Saskatchewan Party Opposition on March 15, 2004. Since then, Wall has sought to expand the party from its rural base into the cities.
