STC is a common bus carrier that provides passenger transportation, parcel express, and freight services to communities across the province. In 1946, STC was established as a Crown corporation and has operated continuously ever since. STC travels more than five million kilometres per year across twenty-eight bus routes, serving 275 communities in Saskatchewan. STC owns and operates main terminals in Regina, Saskatoon, and Prince Albert, and works with 206 private bus companies to provide passenger and freight services to rural communities throughout the province. STC maintains its head office in Regina and employs 234 people. Due to a steady, 20-year decline in bus ridership, STC has faced operating losses for many years; in 2003, the company lost more than $2.1 million.
