Born in Vancouver on June 16, 1939, Denny Carr was a renowned Saskatoon radio personality and a tireless community volunteer. His broadcasting career began in British Columbia, and after a brief stint with CKSA Lloydminster, Carr joined CFQC Saskatoon in 1961. He remained at CFQC until it was sold in 1991, and later worked at CJWW. Carr was responsible for the Salvation Army’s Secret Santa Campaign, a long-standing annual program that provides toys for less-fortunate children. In recognition of his professional and community service, Denny Carr received the Order of Canada in 1999 prior to his untimely death on July 22 of that year.
