A dedicated proponent of the musical arts, Robert Lynn Mossing of Bengough was born on February 7, 1936, and educated at the Vandercook College of Music in Chicago and the University of Michigan. For over forty years, he has instructed the world-renowned Regina Lions Band, first as its assistant director from 1959 to 1970 and then as its executive director until 1999. Since then, Mossing has served as Director Emeritus and has accumulated numerous honours and awards for his work. A member of the Canadian and Saskatchewan Band Associations, Robert Mossing received the Order of Canada in 1995.
