Born in Calgary on July 22, 1925, Patrick Moran left an indelible mark on Regina's Wascana Centre, a 930-ha parkland development. A graduate of the University of Alberta, Moran was hired as horticultural director of Wascana Centre in 1962 and promoted to executive director four years later. Until his retirement in 1987, Moran helped Wascana Centre acquire its reputation as one of North America's most beautiful landscaped parks. He has also been involved in numerous cultural societies and has volunteered his time to local organizations and missions in the developing world. Moran was made a Member of the Order of Canada in 1993.
