Ibis

Ibises (family Threskiornithidae) are a family of long-legged stork-like wading Birds found throughout the tropical and temperate areas of the world. The approximately thirty-three species of ibis and spoonbill feed in wetlands, probing in water and mud for invertebrates. The white-faced ibis (Plegadis chihi) occurs sporadically in the province as far north as Last Mountain Lake as a wanderer. This medium-sized wader occurs in the same habitat as Shorebirds and Herons, but can be distinguished by its overall dark body and long down-curved thin bill.
