Respected for his dedication to the profession of Law, David Eldon “Tom” Gauley was born in Unity, Saskatchewan on October 15, 1922. Having earned an LLB from the University of Saskatchewan in 1943, Tom was called to the Saskatchewan Bar and founded his first law firm two years later. Appointed Queen's Counsel in 1956, he helped organize the first Bar Admission Course as a Bencher of the Law Society of Saskatchewan. He has given generously of his time and leadership to the University of Saskatchewan, serving as member and chair of its Board of Governors. He is the recipient of numerous awards from the legal profession and was made a Member of the Order of Canada in 2003.
