The Air Reserve is an integral part of the Canadian Air Force. Air Force reservists are citizens who volunteer to devote a portion of their free time to military service. They augment and serve alongside members of the Regular Force, performing the various roles required to maintain an effectively functioning Air Force base. Reservists are involved in a wide variety of Air Force activities including surveillance and control of Canadian airspace, world-wide airlift of Canadian Forces personnel and material, support to the navy and army, support to other government departments, search and rescue, and humanitarian operations. 15 Wing Air Reserve Flight, Moose Jaw is the only air reserve unit currently operating in Saskatchewan.
